I’m always finding punctuation or some little something to fix in the book. When I get a list I make the corrections and upload a new file. When that’s in process, Amazon acts crazy. Just check back and as soon as I approve the proof it’s back up and all is well.

“Finding this book was a God send and divine intervention. I feel as though I was one of the first in line God had in mind for reading this book as I needed a lot of help in healing myself both physically and spiritually. It has given me such a profound and unimaginable journey and walk with Jesus Christ! I cried instantly while only reading the first few pages of the Preface and couldn’t put the book down.
I took a page out of her book, so to speak, and decided that I’d make a deal with God like she did. In my case, I’d give an offering to Him in exchange for a miraculous deed. Mid way through reading the book, God had me at my whits end with many trials and tribulations going on in both my physical & emotional health. It was then at that moment our deal was made, he answered my prayers and I received my tangible miracle that cannot be logically explained. I plan on sharing my story and spiritual awakening publicly on YouTube this Spring 2018.
The book is just as the title states; Getting Well, God’s Way. We as humans put all of our faith in doctors and trust organizations like the FDA and wait around for good health to happen, while doing no leg work of our own – much less seeking guidance from our creator. I was already on a path of finding wellness and Kathy’s book helped bring that other half to my life that I was missing. I owe a lot of gratitude to Kathy for dedicating half of her life to writing God’s book, that in return, helped others like me – who are “awake” and self-disciplined enough in their faith to make those sacrificial offerings of worldly things.
The book explains how our Churches have conformed to the ways of the world and how we have all succumbed to the notion of being helpless… when in fact, we are not but are too obstinate to change. There’s a heavy unwillingness to end our bad habits, most are not ready or are too submitted to the world to do so and wellness is never achieved. Kathy also hits on all of the corruption going on in various factions (e.g. Religion/Government/Healthcare/Mainstream Media) right before our eyes but are too asleep to even notice. We have been programmed to NOT think for ourselves and live in a society of solely relying on being told what to do and how to think, where lies become truths and truths become conspiracy theories.

This woman is reading the book and was needing some direction. I told her that God was “no respecter of persons” and that He would do for her what He did for me. She said a prayer and went to Natural Grocers where “an elderly Mexican lady” stepped out and essentially said “God sent me to help you.” She’s still processing this encounter. Sadly this woman attends church and can’t get any wisdom, guidance, or spiritual intervention because the shepherds don’t know how to help their flock. And when God sent in a messenger, me, they didn’t recognize me, OR THE WISDOM from their own bible. They’ve brought Coke machines and junk food in and pray in a manner that ONLY acknowledges an Rx drug approach and aren’t even open to hearing other ideas. Rx drugs are rarely the answer and my story of recovery proves this to be accurate.
God has been set aside in favor of a medical doctor and the statistics prove this isn’t working! The US makes up 5% of the globe and consumes 70% of the Rx drug supply; 80% of the opiates yet the 2014 Social Index Report shows we’re in last place for life expectancy. These Rx drugs are now being found in municipal water and fresh water lakes. They’re corrupting our government, our science, media, our health, our kids future…
Notable is that she’s been suffering so long and not getting answers that she was beginning to believe God didn’t love her or hear her pleas.
Today’s churches are on the wrong track!
“I send you in as sheep among wolves…be sober…be vigilant…” NOPE, they brought the wolf into the congregation and set them on the high seats. God is not okay with this!

“This is one of the most eye opening books I have ever read in my life. If you want to know what God is capable of, buy this book. It will save your life. This world is far from God, we are so separated from Him, that we are blind to this worlds wicked ways. Kathy writes so beautifully in a way that literally speaks straight to your heart, the way she words things is literally so easy to understand. Every page I was in tears as she explained how God has worked in her life. This is just a reminder that I will heal, but I have to discipline and deny the flesh of this worldly wicked ways. I am now looking forward to completely healing through God. Buy this book, it will change your life forever. Thanks be to God for making Kathy write this book for us. He still delivers miracles to His believers and followers. God is good. Thank you! My life is changed forever, and so is my families. I have so much promise and hope in God, more than ever now.”

“This is a really wonderful book that makes so many important points about healing. Kathy really nails how orthodox religion focuses on prayer and miracles for healing, while completely ignoring the importance of personal responsibility. As a pastor’s daughter, Kathy knew the Bible and the ways of the church inside and out. So, when she became seriously ill with a whole host of different illnesses, she did what everyone else did. She prayed to God for a miracle. She prayed that he would make her well. She also did the culturally acceptable thing. She went to dozens of doctors and took all the drugs they prescribed for her. But after eighteen months of praying and praying and praying, and also being a good patient, her health got worse. What she was doing was not working.
At that time, something told her she was on the wrong track. She canceled all her future doctor’s appointment and decided to not just pray to God, but to really listen to God, and let him guide her. This was the beginning of her healing. She came to understand how modern churches are supporting a profit-driven culture that promotes sickness, not health. People were praying to God for healing, while consuming large amounts of Coca Cola, junk food, and drugs with dangerous side effects. In her studying of scripture, she came to clearly see that we have been commanded to honor and care for our physical bodies and that we also have a responsibility to engage in behaviors that promote healing. This book was “called-in.” God would not take “No” for an answer. It ripped my life apart to do so but omens kept moving me forward and I knew it was important. Several people have cried reading the intro. Two readers have told me it dropped them to their knees in tears.
God has some things He wants to say to humanity and He knows He’ll have to do a scorched earth arrival to get people to look up from their phones. I expect to see more of this. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store. I’ll have her on blog talk radio soon to share her story and will post the link. What an amazing journey.

The book is getting phenomenal reviews. I’ve now had a second person tell me that the introduction has dropped them to their knees in tears. When I was writing the book I had this sense that it was a powerful message. I will also admit there was level of fear and hope that I wasn’t wrong, but essentially an inner drive kept prompting me on and is the reason I allowed the journey to continue even though it was taking everything from me. I talk in the book about how anything of real value will have an equal and opposite “push back” which to me explained why the price I was paying to write it was so high. I posted a graphic on Facebook recently that said “If God asked you to write a book that you knew would take away your marriage, your child, grandchildren and more, would you? It continues to be an interesting thread. Losing my family was hard but I knew this book was being called in by God and that it’s quite possible I came to Earth to live this story to write this book. It’s a vital message for humanity at a critical time.
“I was not compensated by goods, gifts, or services for writing this review. I first had the pleasure of hearing Kathy as a guest on Lloyd Burrell’s Electric Sense radio interview in which she explained how she overcame EMF (electromagnetic field) sensitivity by changes she made in her home. She was articulate, personable, had a sense of humor, and had spiritual depth (believed in God). I decided she had a message I needed to investigate, so I bought her book.
“Getting Well God’s Way” is four resources combined together:
1. A detailed resource list of alternative healing modalities and supplements Kathy used to heal herself from her health challenges. She is a detailed researcher and has provided the reference information and/or links to enable the reader to obtain further info.
2. A comprehensive list of scriptural and other quotations that helped her reshape her belief system and that are worth reflecting upon.
3. The techniques Kathy used to deepen her spiritual connection, align herself with God, and obtain God’s guidance and help.
4. A fascinating autobiographical account of her spiritual growth and development, with anecdotes and examples of interest to those who wish to grow spiritually.
Because of my own health challenges, I was familiar with much of what Kathy discusses. However, she discusses additional topics with which I was unfamiliar, that I will further pursue, to improve my health.
Although Kathy is well versed in the Judeo-Christian tradition, those of us from other religious backgrounds can benefit from her advice to align with our Creator and to surrender to the Creator’s direction for our personal lives. Books on spiritual development and growth often present the insights of the accomplished mystic or saint, and do not provide information on how they progressed from beginner to mature. Reading Kathy’s book is similar to studying with a mystic, and has many helpful tips and advice to how to walk “a closer walk with Thee.”
No book is perfect; this one has a few flaws. I hope the next edition will include a detailed table of contents or an index. However, it’s the message that counts. I am thankful that Kathy Bates has provided such a valuable resource and even has a Facebook page with more information.

This book is the refreshing personal story of a woman named Kathy who had the courage to throw out everything she had been taught to believe and to try to discover the real truth about why she was ill. With a sense of urgency, she exhorts us to see the connection between what we do and what God is willing to do for us. In her search for wellness, she uncovered the lies and the greed of the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Once freed from this deception that drugs and doctors could heal her, she asked God to show her a better way. She learned the hard truth that most illnesses are self-induced through our own dietary choices and lifestyles.
Meanwhile, she also began to believe in a God who loved her and would give her or anyone wisdom to deal with their specific health issues. This increasing interest in God’s ideas on health led her to the Hebrew Scriptures (Deut. 14) where dietary guidelines for the Jews–such as the prohibition against eating pork –were described. This information put her in conflict with her Christian friends whose theology insisted that these dietary guidelines were not not meant for our generation. But Kathy knew that our intestines today are basically the same as in those days…. And she saw another contradiction when she read in the New Testament that God sees our human bodies as a temple where His spirit lives in His people, but Christians were gorging themselves on ham sandwiches, cookies and other sugary non-foods before their prayer meetings in which they asked God to heal them. I laughed when I read what the author wrote about this contradiction: that those church members should be praying instead that God would restore them to their right minds so they could see that what they put into their bodies was directly affecting their health. Sometimes the truth is so strikingly simple.
… she works as a licensed massage therapist. She regularly prays with any client who requests prayer. And if a client requests for Kathy to lay her hands on them in believing prayer and if the Holy Spirit so directs her, she will do that, too.
Getting Well God’s Way” was given to me by my daughter-in-law who had purchased it from her beautician. (Hooray for beauticians who are always a wealth of information!). While both books are excellent, I think the longer book (not reviewed here) would be particularly useful for someone trying to get well, as it gives brand names, specific products, and includes information of why it’s important to go to the doctor God leads you to instead of the one your insurance company will pay for, plus many other practical tips.

It cuts to the very soul, as it is a scathing criticism of Christians that are aligned with the world instead of set apart. It’s taking me so long to read it because it’s doing a work within me. It’s an agonizing process of self-reflection and giving me more purpose of conviction. I find myself having a flood of emotions with each page, each paragraph, even each sentence. She’s not the first reader to write this either. Ohhhhh my. Healing my soul. I paid a heavy price but this is what I knew would happen. Those in my life had disconnected from God so they couldn’t see the vision. I could because I knew that I was nothing special and that what God did for me He will do for others.
